The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center

From New York or New Haven:
Take I-95 North to Exit 75 (Waterford 1A). Follow about 3 or 4 miles passing a cemetery and the Waterford Post Office on your right. Turn right at traffic light onto Avery Lane (Silva’s Package Store on corner). At next traffic light, go straight ahead onto Great Neck Road (Route 213). Follow this about 3 miles to stop sign and turn right. Proceed about 1/4 mile to next stop sign. Entrance is on the right.

From Boston or Providence:
Take I-95 towards New London. When crossing Gold Star Bridge (Groton) get into right lane. Get off at Exit 84S (Downtown New London). Highway turns into Eugene O’Neill Drive. Follow through New London until it ends. Turn left (Tilley Street), then right (Firehouse on the corner) onto Bank Street. At approximately the fourth light, turn left onto Ocean Avenue. Go down Ocean Avenue approximately 4 to 5 miles passing hospital on the left. Jeep dealership and Chuckie’s Country Store on right. Turn right at traffic light (approximately 1 mile) onto Niles Hill Road (Route 213). Take first left onto Great Neck Road. At stop sign, go straight onto the O’Neill grounds.

From Hartford and North:
Take Route 2 and 11 from Hartford and New London signs to Route 11. Route 11 comes to an end; go left at end of exit ramp onto Route 82. Follow to intersection and make right at the light onto Route 85 and take into New London. Shortly after passing the Waterford Speedbowl on right and Oakdell Motel on left, turn right onto Cross Road. Follow Cross Road to the end and turn left at traffic light onto Route 1A. Follow about 2 or 3 miles passing a cemetery and the Waterford Post Office. Turn right at traffic light onto Avery Lane (Silva’s Package Store on corner). At next traffic light, go straight ahead onto Great Neck Road (Route 213). Follow Great Neck Road for about 3 miles to stop sign and turn right. Proceed about 1/4 mile to next stop sign. Entrance is on the right.

Directions to the Monte Cristo Cottage:
Take Route 395 South to New London exit (left exit) to Route 32. Follow Route 32 past the Coast Guard Academy and Connecticut College. Follow signs for “Downtown New London”. Stay straight on Rte 32 to Eugene O’Neill Drive. Stay in left lane, take a left onto Tilley Street and then an immediate right onto Bank Street (firehouse will be on your right). Turn left onto Howard Street (Nathaniels Restaurant to your left). Follow Howard Street, under railroad bridge, where Howard Street turns into Pequot Avenue. The Cottage is located on the opposite side of the Thames River, set back behind a row of bush. A street sign for bus parking should be visible. The Monte Cristo Cottage address is: 325 Pequot Avenue.
